You may be considering development of a new web site or wanting an existing site re-designed. The information provided on this page is offered as a guideline for assessing web site requirements and estimating development costs.
We've developed a basic site design service fee rate for new sites and it includes the features that are common to most web sites. Certain situations and special needs may require additional or expanded features and those will be estimated seperately.
Many of the projects we assist in are re-designs of sites that were created by the business owners when first starting out on the internet. Business owners realize that a professional appearance is needed if they wish to successfully compete in today's market. Thus, we've developed an attractive re-design service that will appeal to business owners.
Your project will be individually assessed and estimated to ensure that you receive the most effective services at the lowest cost possible.
Basic Site Design Service
The per page flat fee of $700 CAD for the first page and $180 for each additional page for new sites includes:
Standard HTML coding for page layout
Standard coding for links, email, and buttons
Navigation images
Simple javascript page effects such as image roll-overs
Submission form to e-mail and/or text file
Assistance with establishing Domain (ie. yoursite.com) if desired
Initial submission of your site to the major Search Engines
Initial submission of your site to industry-related Search Engines, if they exist and to a maximum of 8 registrations.
A page is defined as the content of a standard 8½ by 11 inch page. The higher cost for the first page is due to the time involved in assessing needs and creating the initial design template. This portion of the development fee is non-refundable.
Additional features.
Additional features may be desired or needed, depending on the goals that you have set for your site. Hourly development fees (ranging from $30 CAD per hour for html to $50 CAD per hour for scripting and database work) and/or third party charges may apply for the following web site features:
Assistance with text and site contents
Logo design and creation
Scanning of pictures and documents for inclusion at site
Conversion and resize of graphic images for internet publication, particularly when a number are needed for catalogues or shopping cart systems
Banner images and other types of advertisements
Bulletin Board discussion forums
Chat Rooms
Framed pages
Databases and database driven site features
Custom javascript coding
Product or image catalogues
Ordering system or shopping carts
Site statistics
Web site maintenance after initial publishing
Web site additions and modifications after initial publishing
Your site may also require elements that are not listed above. The services quote will include these elements if they can be anticipated in advance.
Web site re-design service.
The web site re-design service focuses on two things:
increasing customer satisfaction in the site through improved appearance and navigation;
and, if needed, improving key word/phrase rankings in the leading search engines.
After all, the appearance and function of the site only matters if your customers can find your site in the first place. We can't guarantee placements in any search engine, but we have a proven record of achieving top positions for clients and this information is available on request. We'll submit the site to the leading search engines and monitor the results for three months.
The fee is $700 CAD for the visual and navigational re-design work and $120 per page for converting pages from the old to the new design. Many businesses opt to do the conversions in-house and, in that case, we are happy to provide guidance.
